Inorganics Removal
Process Solutions employs a proprietary crystallization technology called HARDTAC that improves production efficiency through generation of easily dewatered crystalline products. The HARDTAC process is well suited for the treatment and possible recovery of heavy metals in industrial streams. HARDTAC is able to remove many heavy metals to low levels and produce a relatively dry cake (75-90 percent solids by weight) that may be valuable for internal recycle or through external markets.
Key aspects of HARDTAC for heavy-metals-laden wastewater treatment
 |
Consistently superior removal of metals compared to conventional precipitation processes
High fractional conversion of chemical reagents
Self-contained HARDTAC minimizes the need for extraneous, external unit operations
Control automation can be incorporated to minimize operator attention
The physical chemistry of the process ensures a very uniform, large mean particle size
The moisture content of the recovered, dewatered cake is higher than any other conventional process
Selective recovery of valuable specie minimizes the residual contamination concentrations |
Other Heavy Metal Applications
Other examples in which HARDTAC may be applied for the treatment of heavy metals in industrial wastewater and blow-down streams include:
 |
Pickle liquor blow-down and rinse water
Electro-galvanizing line blow-down and rinse water
Electo-plating industry
Any other stream in the Metals Finishing Industry Phosphogypsum |
