Byproduct Recovery
Our HARDTAC process is able to treat spent KOH from HF alkylation processes that use KOH as the neutralizing agent, producing:
 |
"Regenerated" KOH that may be internally recycled back to the refinery
Calcium fluoride that may be recycled in an external market
Regenerated KOH with minimal water dilution |
Key aspects of HARDTAC for HF Alkylation spent caustic treatment:
 |
The fluoride concentration in the regenerated KOH is reduced to about 5,000 to 10,000 mg/L (depending on the KOH concentration).
Reagent usage is typically about 15 to 100 percent less than comparable, conventional precipitation technologies, significantly reducing the reagent cost.
Any level of automation can be incorporated to meet your needs. Typically, we provide HARDTAC on a service contract basis whereby the entire operation is fully automated and operates independently of the HF Alkylation unit controls.
Regeneration of the KOH drastically reduces the amount of fresh KOH that must be purchased, thereby saving the refinery significantly in operating costs. |
